Where Cox & Sons Ltd is going
South Sudan's development spending is increasingly directed toward local firms that can demonstrate compliance and technical capacity. Our roadmap is built to meet that bar ahead of demand, so that when contracts open, we are already eligible.
- 01Near term
UN and international agency vendor certification
We are formalising the documentation, quality-assurance procedures and financial reporting standards required for registration on the UN Global Marketplace and the vendor rosters of major international NGOs. Certification will allow us to bid directly on humanitarian supply and works packages currently awarded outside the country, keeping more of that expenditure — and the employment it creates — inside South Sudan.

Regional office in Kampala, Uganda
A liaison and procurement office in Kampala will place us closer to the suppliers, freight consolidators and equipment dealers our trade and construction divisions depend on. The office will shorten procurement cycles, reduce landed costs through direct sourcing, and give regional partners a point of contact outside South Sudan for contracting and payment arrangements.

Green building technology and sustainable construction
Our construction division is developing capability in interlocking stabilised soil blocks, solar-integrated building systems, rainwater harvesting and improved thermal design. These methods reduce dependence on imported cement and steel, lower whole-life costs for clients, and align our tenders with the environmental and climate criteria increasingly applied to donor-funded infrastructure.

Expanded agricultural production and aggregation
We intend to scale our cultivated acreage, add mechanised services capacity and establish aggregation and storage points that allow smallholder producers to sell at fair prices instead of distressed harvest-time rates. The objective is a locally supplied food chain that reduces reliance on imported staples in Eastern Equatoria.

Conservation and eco-tourism development
Building on our zoo and conservation division, we plan to develop the facility into a recognised centre for wildlife rehabilitation and conservation education, supported by structured eco-tourism that generates sustainable revenue for habitat protection and community engagement.
